How to find the Holiday Value – Part 2

Put Your Best Deal Forward

The Holidays are in full swing and there seems to be a hint of optimism in the business world…well, at least in my opinion.  Whether businesses are reaching out to other businesses, or reaching out to consumers, now’s the time to put your best deal forward.  From an Internet Marketing perspective, that means using social media and email to share the message of your undeniable offer.

Step 1 – Create the Undeniable Offer

The Holidays are full of great deals and specials that everyone has become accustom to every year.  Come up with an offer so awesome and valuable that the potential customers will have no choice but to accept.  A few key points the offer should have:

  • Give it an expiration date: it will help create a sense of urgency
  • Create separate offers for current clients and potential clients
  • Don’t make a “fluffy” offer.  Give clients true value that will get them talking

Step 2 – Spread the Word

Now, the people need to know!  Use social media outlets and email tools, such as Constant Contact to get the news out.

Social Media

The main Social Media tools these days are Facebook and Twitter.  To get results from social media, your accounts must be active and consistent.  If you are new to social media, there are several other Twitter and Facebook accounts that could assist in promoting your special.  Twitter accounts such as CyberDecember, TodaysTopDeals, or Twitter lists such as this Holiday Deals List.

Email Campaigns

Email still works, as long as it bring value and is done tastefully. Create a Constant Contact account, which offers a free 60 day trial and has a good selection of templates to design the email.  Plan on sending emails on a consistent basis between now and the end of the Holiday special.  Each email should have these key points:

  • Emphasize the fact that the deal is coming even closer to the end
  • Be clear what the offer is
  • Give a call to action: Go to a website or call in to redeem the special
